We are thrilled to share that Prof Kelly Chibale, H3D Foundation CEO has been elected to the prestigious United States National Academy of Medicine (NAM). He is one of 10 international members. Election to the Academy is considered one of the highest honours in the fields of health and medicine and recognises individuals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and commitment to service.

Current members elect new members based on criteria recognising their major contributions to the advancement of the medical sciences, health care, and public health.

This election recognises Kelly as a pioneer in infectious disease drug discovery in Africa and a leader in medical science on the continent and beyond. The academy has highlighted his role in leading international project teams, including one that discovered the first small molecule clinical candidate for any disease researched on African soil by an African-led international team.
